J. Christopher Mizer

President and Managing Member

J. Christopher Mizer, a 25-year veteran of the alternative investment industry, founded Vivaris Capital, LLC in June of 1998 and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Vivaris (formerly Lake Erie Capital) invests in and acquires middle-market businesses in healthcare, life sciences, and technology that are leaders in their market niches. Mr. Mizer serves as the chairman of each of the portfolio companies and guides key strategic decisions and their execution. He also serves as the operating president on an interim basis when companies are going through periods of ownership succession and new management team members are being assembled.

He is a former Vice President and Officer of the investment banking division of Key Capital Markets where he focused on merger, acquisition, and financing projects for Fortune 500 clients, private companies, and successful entrepreneurs. Prior to joining Key Corp., he was a certified public accountant in the audit practice with Ernst & Young. He began his career as a Research Assistant with The Center for Economic Issues, a think-tank focused on economic development. He earned the B.S. (biology, applied math), B.A. (economics), M.S. (biology - neurogenetics), and MBA (finance, accounting) degrees from Case Western Reserve University.

Additionally, he has taught business strategy, finance and entrepreneurship at the graduate level at Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, and the University of California, San Diego and undergraduates at San Diego State University. He has been a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), and Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Leonard A. Farber, M.D.

Principal - Healthcare and Life Sciences

Leonard is a successful executive in the field of healthcare with extensive experience in oncology. He is acknowledged for his ability to recognize emerging technologies and position them for success amongst complex markets in both the academic and private practice environments and for his expertise in strategizing and enhancing organizational relationships, growing hospital departments, launching startups, and bringing new and innovative technologies into clinical practice. Dr. Farber is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist and has been medical and clinical director of radiation oncology facilities in NY. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he served as chief resident. Prior to that he completed his internship at Beth Israel Medical center having graduated medical school from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is the Founder and Clinical Director of The Farber Center for Radiation Oncology, the first of its kind state-of-the-art radiation oncology center that integrated complementary medicine into the most advanced cancer treatment care. Actively sought after for his knowledge and application of technology into the marketplace, Leonard is a Scientific Advisory Board member of Genomic Health, Adgero Biopharmaceuticals, and the Global Pain Foundation/National Pain Foundation. He is the Senior Medical Director of Anatom-e information system where he is involved with product development and integration with AR and VR into clinical practice. He recently served as Chief Medical Officer for the start-up Woodmont Pharmaceuticals and EHMET Health. He is also currently the Senior Clinical Advisor for PreludeDx where he has been instrumental in promoting the utilization of a novel radiogenomicsassay for early stage breast cancer. Dr. Farber sits on the Board of Directors for Re:InventHealth. He has been recognized by Super Doctors, and received the Top Doctors Award in Radiation Oncology, Best Doctors Award, America’s Top Oncologists Award in Radiation Oncology, and America’s Top Physicians Award in Radiation Oncology for many years.


 

Michael E. Griffin

Sub Advisor and Fund Director of HedgeACT

Michael has served in executive roles in the alternative asset management industry for the past 25 years. He is the founder of HedgeACT and Spectrum Global Fund Administration. His data model and reporting designs have been the foundation of the proprietary technology which distinguished Spectrum from its peers. HedgeACT and its revolutionary technology continues to elevate his commitment to daily reporting and transparency with the launch of a new paradigm for alternative asset management platforms. Prior to Spectrum, Mr. Griffin was the Chief Operating Officer of Fenchurch Capital Management and served as a Director of Kleinwort Benson Limited. In addition, Mr. Griffin also served as Chief Operating Officer for Virginia Trading Corporation, a registered commodity pool operator. Mr. Griffin began his professional career at Coopers & Lybrand. As a manager at Coopers & Lybrand, he specialized in the Commodities and Securities practice. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.


 

James Gallagher, CAIA

Sub-Advisor and Operations Director of HedgeACT

James is responsible for managing the investment operations processes, operational due diligence on new and existing managers and provides oversite and support to marketing and sales for HedgeACT. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for marketing and business development. James spent over 15 years in the financial services industry focused on operations, due diligence and marketing. His prior experience includes working with alternative investment firms focused on venture capital, real estate and hedge funds to a large Fortune 500 consumer finance company. Mr. Gallagher is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, earned his MBA with concentration in Behavioral Finance from DePaul’s KellstadtGraduate School of Business and a BA in Business Administration from Illinois State University.


 

SteveN C. Scholl

Chairman of Advisory Board

Steve Scholl, a 25-year veteran of the alternative investment industry, is Senior Analyst and Chair of the Advisory Board at Vivaris Capital, LLC, founded in June of 1998 to invest in and acquire middle-market businesses in healthcare, life sciences, and technology that are leaders in their market niches. His areas of expertise include executive leadership, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, raising capital, launching, acquiring, and growing businesses.

Mr. Scholl is supported by an eight-member team that includes leading physicians, environmental and climate technology experts, alternative investment professionals, and global finance and business specialists.  The team is primarily focused on building businesses in climate tech and life sciences, where the principals anticipate adoption of new technologies will drive growth and create value.

Ali Abood

Advisory Board

Ali has over 30 years of experience in global finance and international business development, especially in Africa, the Middle East, and London. He was a senior executive with Exxon Mobil and worked with one of the world’s largest private banks, National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia. He is also Co-Founder of Toron Group, a financial advisory firm, structuring strategic partnerships among governments, investment funds, and leading companies in the agriculture, infrastructure, natural resources, energy and other industries. Ali is recognized for his flair for negotiating with government officials, politicians, sovereign entities, and businessmen from different cultural environments. Born in Tanzania and educated at Cairo University, Ali is fluent in Arabic, English, and Swahili.


 

John McGinnis

Advisory Board

John is the President of Tangier Service Capital Group, an investment management firm located in Dubai. His experiences pans several major industries including telecommunications, distribution, finance, and information technology. He began his career as an IBM Systems Programmer, then founded his own IBM systems consulting company. He was one of the pioneers in the cellular communications industry with Alcatel and a start up cellular business. After several mergers, it became Verizon Wireless, which he helped to grow to 50 million customers in three years. Recently, he founded Kay Pat Enterprises as a technology incubator with a focus on green technologies. Mr. McGinnis graduated from Iowa State University and holds degrees in Computer Science and Math.


 

Robert Fincati

​​Robert currently serves as a Director of One Tribe Global, a UK-based company focused on the voluntary carbon market space as well as a founding Board Director of One Sky Forest Products,a proposed best in class forest products mill.  He has served as a Director for ManitobahMukluks, an Indigenous-owned Canadian growth 500 company, as well as served in the roles of Director, President and Chairman of Sakaw Askiy Management Inc., a Forest Management Company in Northern Saskatchewan with over a billion dollars in revenue annually representing a collective of multi-stakeholder interests of Indigenous and Industrial Processors. Robert is a Registered Professional Forester with over 40 years of experience in a wide range of roles in the forest industry. Robert has a passion for generating wealth sovereignty for Indigenous Nations in Canada and globally and has been called a "natural CEO" with a gift for making money to make a difference.


 

Charlotte Luer

Director of Investor Relations

Charlotte Luer is Chief Executive Officer of LJH Financial Marketing Strategies based in Naples, Florida and New York. She has 25+ years of experience in financial marketing, branding strategy, financial public relations and consulting.

Her expertise includes educational and thought leadership roles and expansive, on-going marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, multi- billion-dollar hedge funds, private equity funds, trust companies, asset management firms, banks and family offices. Her consulting work on behalf of single- and multi-family offices and other high profile financial industry clients has led to significant revenue growth and earned her a high level of respect in the financial services industry.

Previously, Ms. Luer was Senior Vice President of Public Communications Inc., one of the largest independent public relations agencies in the United States. She earned a B.S. in Journalism and an M.A. in Communications, both with Honors, at the University of Florida. In addition to her communications studies, she concentrated in statistics and Latin American Affairs. She was named Graduate Research Student of the Year, and later worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami and the University of South Florida where she taught college courses in journalism and public relations.

Charlotte is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the New York Junior League, The League Club of Naples and Greater Naples Leadership.
